A cloud gaming portable is being created by Tencent and Logitech.
It has been revealed that Logitech and Tencent are developing a portable cloud gaming system. They are fusing the software strength of Tencent with the hardware expertise of the Logitech G brand. The product’s working name is the Logitech G Gaming Handheld, according to a landing page (where you may enter your email address to get updates).
According to Logitech, the system will “support different cloud gaming services” when it launches on the market later this year. Expect the handheld to support both of those platforms at the very least because Tencent and Logitech are collaborating with the Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now teams at Microsoft and NVIDIA, respectively.
Given the current supply chain crisis that is making production challenging for virtually every electronics manufacturer, it is uncertain whether the item will actually go on sale as planned. The gadget probably wouldn’t need a lot of computing power, though, because many cloud gaming services are available through web applications on smartphones. It most likely won’t need to be as strong as something like the Steam Deck. It could be simpler for Logitech and Tencent to construct the portable if they use lower-power components that aren’t too hard to get. In any event, in the upcoming months, we should learn more about the device.
We are delighted to partner with Logitech G to bring a cloud gaming handheld to market later this year that will combine Logitech G’s expertise in hardware with Tencent Games’ expertise in software services. https://t.co/KfcC3US5xa
