While Asus is getting ready to fully unveil its new gaming handheld, an Indonesian brand called Advan has launched X-Play, which happens to come with a similar design to the ROG Ally. With AMD Ryzen 7 7840U, it even brings a comparable level of gaming performance.

Of course, the top-end Asus ROG Ally with Ryzen Z1 Extreme didn’t come with Ryzen AI, which the Advan X-Play features. Thanks to the Ryzen 7 7840U, it enjoys an XDNA NPU that can deliver up to 10 TOPS of AI performance. There’s a difference in terms of battery capacity too.

The Advan X-Play sports a 50.04 Wh battery, larger than the 40 Wh battery found in the ROG Ally (get it from Best Buy). This could potentially lead to longer runtimes. Another key difference between the two is that the X-Play gaming handheld has support for up to 32 GB of LPPDR5X RAM running at 7500 MT/s.

To compare, the Asus ROG Ally tops out at 16 GB of LPPDR5 RAM running at 6400 MT/s. Advan also says that its handheld gaming PC will be available with up to 2 TB of storage. However, there’s no word on which SSD form factor the device supports. Worth noting that the base variant has 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Other notable specs include a 7-inch 120 Hz FHD screen, USB4, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3.

When it comes to the price, the Advan X-Play is currently up for preorder, and it costs 9,999,000 Indonesian Rupiah (about $626.33). The company hasn’t yet shared any plans to release the gaming handheld outside Indonesia.
