The official announcement of X870 and X870E chipset motherboards has already been made by various motherboard manufacturers but many of the motherboard pages aren’t yet prepared. This includes ASRock, which recently revealed its X870 and X870E motherboards. However, today we have several pictures of multiple X870E ASRock motherboards, revealing their specs.
There are four models for X870E and X870 from ASRock that surfaced online and were posted by @momomo_us. These include:
- ASRock X870 PRO RS WiFi
- ASRock X870 Steel Legend WiFi
- ASRock X870E Taichi Lite
- ASRock X870E NOVA WiFi
These are among the seven announced X870 and X870E ASRock motherboards and are aimed at different budget segments. Each one of these brings a built-in WiFi adapter and rich connectivity wireless and wired device connection. There are multiple USB Type A and Type C ports with the latter being USB4, offering higher bandwidth. Apart from connectivity, there are BIOS Flash and/or Clear CMOS buttons for introducing changes to the BIOS.
ASRock X870E PRO RS WiFi
The X870 PRO RS brings a fully white PCB with grey accents, offering modern features at an affordable price than the higher-end X870E motherboards. The board comes with 14+2+1 power phases, and decent-sized VRM heatsinks plus heatsinks for the primary M.2 connector and a long M.2 Armor for the bottom M.2 slot that also exhibits RGB lighting. Connectivity includes several USB Type A( 2.0 and 3.2) ports and two USB 4 ports for high bandwidth devices. Users will get a 2.5G LAN, WiFi 7 adapter, and a BIOS Flashback button beside the connectivity ports.
The main features of this motherboard include:
- ATX
- 14+2+1 Power Phase, 80A Dr.MOS for VCore
- 4 x DDR5 DIMMs
- 1 PCIe 5.0 x16, 1 PCIe 4.0 x16
- 1 Blazing M.2 (PCIe Gen5x4)
- 1 Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4x4)
- 1 Ultra M.2 (PCIe Gen3x4 & SATA3)
- 2 USB4 Type-C (Rear)
- 1 USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C (Front)
- 6 USB 3.2 Gen1 (4 Rear, 2 Front)
- 9 USB 2.0 (6 Rear, 3 Front)
- 2.5Gbps LAN & 802.11be WiFi 7
- Toolless Multi-Layer M.2 Heatsink
- M.2 Bottom Heatsink
ASRock X870 Steel Legend WiFi
The X870 Steel Legend WiFi has a bit different PCB design but brings a a similar white-themed PCB design with large white heatsinks and I/O shrouds. It also brings a similar 14+2+1 power phase design to the PRO RS and the connectivity is almost the same as the PRO RS WiFi but the ports are arranged differently. It should be a bit costlier than the PRO RS WiFi but will still be cheaper than the next two motherboards.
The following are the main highlights of the X870 Steel Legend WiFi:
- ATX
- 14+2+1 Power Phase, 80A Dr.MOS for VCore
- 4 x DDR5 DIMMs
- 1 PCIe 5.0 x16, 1 PCIe 4.0 x16
- 1 Blazing M.2 (PCIe Gen5x4)
- 2 Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4x4)
- 2 USB4 Type-C (Rear)
- 1 USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C (Front)
- 2 USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A (Rear)
- 7 USB 3.2 Gen1 (3 Rear, 4 Front)
- 2.5Gbps LAN & 802.11be WiFi 7
- Toolless Multi-Layer M.2 Heatsink
- M.2 Bottom Heatsink
ASRock X870E Taichi Lite
The X870E Taichi Lite brings a more sophisticated PCB design with a 27-power phase inside its robust VRM. It is the lite version of the flagship X870E Taichi but has a few features missing like EZ Release Design, which is available on the NOVA. It boasts a premium design with properly grooved heatsinks and a large I/O shroud. Being an E-ATX form-factor motherboard, it offers additional stuff like troubleshooting features, better component compatibility, and modern connectivity.
The main highlights of the Taichi series include:
- EATX
- 24+2+1 Power Phase, 110A SPS for VCore
- 4 x DDR5 DIMMs
- 2 PCIe 5.0 x16
- 1 Blazing M.2 (PCIe Gen5x4)
- 3 Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4x4)
- 2 USB4 Type-C (Rear)
- 1 USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C (Front)
- 5 USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A (Rear)
- 7 USB 3.2 Gen1 (3 Rear, 4 Front)
- 5Gbps LAN & 802.11be WiFi 7
- EZ Release Design (Only Taichi)

- M.2 Bottom Heatsink
ASRock X870E NOVA WiFi
The fourth one is the X870E NOVA WiFi, which is the second-best offering from ASRock in the X870E lineup. It is equipped with a 23-power phase VRM and several native Gen 5.0 m.2 ports just like the Taichi Lite. However, the NOVA brings only 1x PCI-E 5.0 x16 slot compared to two on the Taichi Lite.
All these ASRock X870E boards come with 2x PCI-E x16 slots for GPUs and expansion cards but only the NOVA brings the EZ Release for easier GPU installation/uninstallation. Plus, it also has a PCI-E x1 slot and an Error Code display for advanced troubleshooting. The Taichi Lite also has the Error Code and the power/reset buttons just like the NOVA but misses on the RGB lighting.
The following are the main highlights of the Nova WiFi:
- ATX
- 20+2+1 Power Phase, 110A SPS for VCore
- 4 x DDR5 DIMMs
