Battlefield Mobile and Apex Legends Mobile are both discontinued by EA.
The decision by Electronic Arts to stop working on Apex Legends Mobile and Battlefield Mobile is shocking. Fans of both games are disappointed by this decision. The closure is being done because the “content pipeline for Apex Legends Mobile has started to fall short of that goal for quality, quantity, and cadence,” according to a recent blog post published by EA. On May 1st, 2023, the Apex Legends Mobile server will formally shut down. On the other hand, there won’t be any more in-app purchases accessible at any moment starting today.
Apex Legends Mobile shutdown leaves the community in shock
Battlefield Mobile was another well-known IP that was poised to make its mobile gaming debut. Just recently, in a few locations, was the beta testing phase of the game made playable. Additionally, Electronic Arts has chosen to halt any further game development. The game’s cancellation was not specifically mentioned by the corporation.
Players will not get any refund for the in-app purchases of Apex Legends Mobile
Electronic Arts stated in the official blog post that they would not be providing refunds for any real money transactions in compliance with the EA User Agreement. On the other side, up to May 1, 2023, players will be allowed to use all of the past purchases they have made. Players won’t be able to make any further purchases from third-party web sites or in-app transactions starting today.
Only the mobile version of Apex Legends has been chosen to no longer get support. The company that created the game, Industrial Toys, is also being shut down by Electronic Arts. However, the reason for the studio’s closure at this time has not yet been given by the corporation.
