The Core i9-12900K is the main processor for the Alder Lake family. As we have already seen from previous leaks, the Core i9-12900K released eight Golden Cove Cores and eight Gracemont Cores with a total of up to 16 cores. The chip comes with a 30MB L3 cache and an unlocked multiplier for overclocking. The first Core i9-12900K models came with a 5.3 GHz dual-core and 5 GHz all-core boost at the Golden Cove core and 3.9 GHz and 3.7 GHz at the Gracemont cores. Rumor has it that the Core i9-12900K will come with 125W PL1 and 228W PL2.
The Core i9-12900K system was tested with the ROG Strix Z690-E Gaming WiFi motherboard with the GeForce RTX 3090, and in addition the 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM (2x32GB).
