Facebook has officially changed its name to Meta.
Facebook recently revealed that it will be renaming the company, but did not say how. Just last night at Facebook Connect 2021, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg officially announced that his company will now change its name to Meta.
Not only did they change the name to Meta, but they also released a new logo to match the same name, apparently it looks like in the picture above. Regarding the name change, Mark Zuckerberg stated that he wanted to make the name of the company more in line with what his company was doing before, because in fact, the name Facebook, as before, seems to refer to the product or Also one of their programs, while they still have other products and services, including currently developing Metaverse, a platform aimed at the artificial world.
Of course, the name Meta refers to a large part of the project to create the Metaverse, and Mark Zuckerberg himself also made it clear that in the meantime, the future project that the company wants to be the first is the Metaverse. Only once.
However, please note that the renaming to Meta is a company name, not an app name, which means that the Facebook social network app we are using today is still Facebook, as well as other applications such as Instagram. And WhatsApp, etc., have not changed the same thing, but in terms of the company behind these programs is Meta, not Facebook.
