Some of the most illustrious organizations in the scene found the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit to be challenging. Fnatic momentarily left the Dota 2 scene after the first tour ended because its talented roster, which included Gabbi, Armel, kpii, DJ, and Jaunuel, found itself in the second division.

A demotion wasn’t expected given that the company only recently took part in The International 2022.

Despite being present at TI11, Fnatic’s performance was subpar; they were tied for 13th at the end of the competition. The group quickly added prominent local players to its ranks following the competition, but nothing worked out as expected.

A startling performance considering that two new lineups, Execration and Geek Slate, were taking control of the area, Fnatic’s most recent edition didn’t win a single set until the last day of the first SEA DPC tour.

While other companies have dabbled with Dota 2 throughout the years, Fnatic has been active from the game’s infancy. This is the first time the organization has chosen to leave the Dota 2 scene since they acquired their first lineup in 2011.

Fnatic’s tweet emphasizes the viability of their Dota 2 lineup, while the company’s official statement implies that they might not compete in the 2023 DPC season at all. But if Fnatic can strike a good deal with a division-one team, things might swiftly change.
