GTA 6 is already breaking records and we’ve not even seen it yet
Rockstar’s Nov. 9 statement has broken the record for the most-liked gaming tweet of all time. The Grand Theft Auto 6 reveal tweet has accrued 1.2 million likes on Twitter, as of writing, and continues to grow just nine hours after it was shared.
In the tweet, the GTA V developers unveiled the news of GTA 6’s trailer arriving in early December. It took five hours to surpass one million likes, according to reports by Okami Games, putting it ahead of another record-breaking Rockstar tweet from Sept. 19, 2022.
Rockstar’s tweet currently sits at 111.3 million views and is rapidly approaching non-gaming Twitter records, though it still has 1.5 million likes before it joins the likes of BTS and Joe Biden in Twitter’s all-time great tweets.
Rockstar's tweet announcing the GTA 6 trailer is now the most liked gaming tweet of all time.

Rumors have been rumbling through the gaming community for years about GTA 6. So far, we’ve received tidbits about map size, characters, and plot lines—but this is the first from the horse’s mouth.
As far as we know, these rumors suggest GTA 6 features a female protagonist called Lucia, paired with her Bonny and Clyde-like partner Jason. These two will traverse Vice City, completing missions on a map size vastly bigger than San Andreas, according to leaks.
It’s been just over 10 years since GTA V’s release on Sept. 27, 2013. Despite GTA V’s age, Rockstar has provided consistent updates and included new content throughout the entirety of its lifespan.
GTA V’s June. 13 San Andreas Mercenaries update introduced tons of new vehicles, and missions, with multiple quality-of-life improvements to match. However, with GTA 6’s trailer arriving next month, we might not be getting any more DLC for GTA V.
We’ll just have to eagerly await December’s trailer and hope Rockstar drops more information soon; though what’s a few more weeks of waiting.
