Intel has commenced the distribution of its Core i9-14900K and Core i9-14900KF CPUs from the ‘Raptor Lake Refresh’ series to both reviewers and retail channels. Consequently, images of the packaging have emerged online. Noted hardware enthusiasts, @9550pro and I_Leak_VN, provided visuals of the CPU boxes, confirming their dissemination to designated recipients.

For this series, Intel maintained the packaging design consistent with its prior 13th Generation flagship processors, including models like the Core i9-13900K/KS, Core i9-12900K/KS, Core i9-11900K, and Core i9-9900K. The Core i9-14900K and Core i9-14900KF are encased in dark blue packaging with an aesthetic reminiscent of a silicon wafer. The packaging is distinctly marked with ‘i9 14th Gen’ and ‘Intel Core Unlocked.’ A transparent window in the packaging provides a view of the CPU, revealing that the SRN48 S-Spec variant is being distributed.

While the circulating images don’t provide detailed specifications of the Core i9-14900K/KF, established knowledge indicates these processors are equipped with eight high-performance Raptor Lake cores. These cores have a peak single-core turbo boost frequency of 6.0 GHz. Additionally, there are 16 Gracemont cores that operate at speeds surpassing 4.30 GHz.

Compatibility-wise, Intel’s 14th Generation ‘Raptor Lake Refresh’ processors are directly compatible with existing LGA1700 motherboards. Such motherboards need to be founded on Intel 600 or Intel 700-series chipsets, be paired with a suitable BIOS, and incorporate a voltage regulating module designed for these CPUs.

Intel has earmarked October 17, 2023, for the official introduction of its performance-focused processors: Core i9-14900K/KF, Core i7-14700K/KF, and Core i5-14600K/KF, all of which have unlocked multipliers.
