Intel officially announces its 12th generation CPU
Intel recently announced its new 12th generation CPU, which includes six models, but its current flagship is the Core i9-12900K. However, in addition to this top model, there are 5 other CPU models that Intel has announced, such as Core i9-12900KF, i7-12700K, i7-12700KF, i5-12600K and finally i5-12600KF.
For the flagship Core i9-12900K, Intel claims that it is the CPU with the best gaming capabilities. This CPU has up to 16 Cores, of which 8 Cores are capable of supporting heavy work (Performance Cores), while the other 8 Cores are CPUs for light performance, use less power (Efficiency Cores) and Core i9-12900K. There are also 24 Threads. The new top CPU can run at 3.2Ghz for Performance Cores and 2.4Ghz for Efficiency Cores, but thanks to Intel Boost Max 3.0 technology, this CPU can be upgraded to a maximum of 5.2Ghz.
However, all the CPUs that Intel has just announced, including the Core i9-12900KF, i7-12700K, i7-12700KF, i5-12600K and i5-12600KF, are all compatible with DDR5 and DDR4 RAM. Same with maximum speeds up to 4800 MT / s and 3200 MT / s respectively. Not only that, these CPUs can support up to 128GB of RAM as well, and it is also the first CPU to be based on the Intel 7 Process, which is their 10nm Enhanced SuperFin Process architecture.
It should be noted that the models with KF extension, whether on Core i9, i7 or i5, they have almost the same features as the KF extension model, and the only difference is that the K model comes with a graphics card. Intel UHD Graphics 770 comes pre-installed, while the KF model does not come with any graphics card.
The other important thing that Intel said is that this is the first CPU that can support PCIe 5.0, and these new processors also support Intel Killer WiFi 6E as well. Intel plans to launch its 12th-generation CPU from November 4, with pre-orders starting today with prices starting at $ 264 and up to $ 589. Here are the key features of these CPUs:
