Only a few months have passed since MSI released the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED. To recap, MSI bases the monitor around a Gen 3 QD-OLED panel with a 1440p resolution and a 360 Hz refresh rate. However, it seems that Samsung Display has quietly released a similar Gen 3 QD-OLED panel with a slightly lower refresh rate.

Specifically, MSI has now listed the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 on its US website, albeit without any pricing details for the time being. As far as we can tell, the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 and Gigabyte AORUS FO27Q2, on which we recently reported, share the same panel. Hence, the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 outputs at 1440p with 0.03 ms GtG response times and 250 nits full panel brightness. Moreover, the monitor peaks at 1,000 nits when viewing HDR content (APL 3%) while delivering VESA ClearMR 13000 and DisplayHDR True Black 400 certifications.

With that being said, the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 diverges from the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED by offering a 240 Hz refresh rate. Still, MSI promises a three-year warranty against OLED burn-in, as well as its OLED Care 2.0 technology and custom fan-less cooling solution. Connectivity options are robust too, with a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports providing 48 Gbps of bandwidth each. As such, the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 supports Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology for use with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles. Please see the image below for more connectivity options.
