New Call of Duty: Warzone UI Has Players Frustrated Again
The new Call of Duty: Warzone UI is making players frustrated again following the Season 5 launch a few days ago. Call of Duty: Warzone will receive a substantial amount of new content during Season 5, but many players want Activision and Infinity Ward to place their focus on making the UI less confusing and more appealing to longtime Call of Duty fans.
On August 2, Activision and Infinity Ward launched Warzone Season 5, which brought new battle royale and DMZ features, more vehicles, and an update to the general playlist. Warzone players can expect more new content and a Call of Duty 2023 reveal event during the season. The in-game reveal event allows players to team up with Shadow Company, take down Konni troops, and secure a dangerous chemical weapon. Moreover, a recent tease from Activision confirms that the Call of Duty 2023 reveal event will arrive within the next week, so fans won’t have to wait much longer for more information.
Call of Duty fan TSM-HabZ shared a screenshot of the new Warzone UI, and fans are frustrated with its menus and overall aesthetic. Many Warzone players note that the new UI looks similar to menus found in streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, while others believe it’s modeled to incentivize microtransactions like a mobile game. Although popular Warzone modes like DMZ and Resurgence are readily accessible, players are also unhappy with the current layout of options and its lack of lobby features.
A few Warzone players, including AyKayAllDay47, believe that the new UI update may be good for those who only play a few of the game’s modes. For example, players may select Resurgence in a matter of seconds since it’s located next to the Featured and DMZ modes in Warzone’s main menu.
Warzone’s UI has been a point of contention among Call of Duty fans for quite some time, and more criticism may come if updates make the experience worse for a notable portion of the community. Infinity Ward may want to consider listening to more player feedback since it may be vital toward making more adjustments and improvements.
At the very least, Infinity Ward is committed to releasing a slew of new content for Season 5 such as new operators, weapons, and events. Additionally, Infinity Ward is expected to release a major “Reloaded” update for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 5, so more UI adjustments and fixes could potentially arrive near the end of August 2023.
