Almost no one was surprised when Roster Secret decided to capitalize on its victory at Riyadh Masters 2022 last month by bringing on Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok to its Dota 2 team.

Reso replaced iceiceice on the squad during the Riyadh Masters, providing them the inspiration they needed to defeat some of the top teams in the globe for the first time this year.

Secret’s performance up until that point had been mediocre at best, with fifth-place finishes in each of the three Tours of the Western Europe Dota Pro Circuit regional league and the GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series Dubai 2022 being their best finish. And although though Reso just temporarily joined the group for the Riyadh Masters, they looked their best in a while.

At first, Secret brought in Resolut1on because Zayac, who joined the team at the conclusion of the Summer Tour to take YapzOr’s spot due to chronic health difficulties, wanted to play with him. Now that the change has been made public, the offlane combo has been reunited, and it appears to have locked up Secret’s lineup for the WEU qualifiers for The International 2022. This agreement also protects Reso from SEA bars.

Reso is now the seventh teammate Puppey has played with on a permanent roster that holds a slot in the top 15 in professional Dota games players, according to analyst Ben “Noxville” Steenhuisen. This is a good development for the squad as well as expanding yet another noteworthy career metric for Puppey.

iceiceice, who spent the whole 2022–23 DPC season with Secret, has also been formally released by Secret and is now free to look for other opportunities before the TI qualifications.
