After months of anticipation, League of Legends fans have received their first look at T1’s World Championship 2023 skins. The long-awaited cosmetics have been the subject of much speculation and excitement, and just two months before Worlds 2024, they’re finally being revealed via a leak today.

Like every past League Worlds champion, each T1 player had the opportunity to select a champion to receive a skin, with Zeus opting for Jayce (plus a Prestige edition coming with the MVP award), Oner picking Lee Sin, Faker choosing Orianna, Gumayusi selecting Jinx, and Keria going for Bard. While the questions about which champions the players were going to pick arrived with the first raised hand in the post-match press conference after the org won its fourth World Championship last year, the final champion selections took longer than anticipated.

Initially, fans expected Faker to choose Ahri, but he surprised many people by selecting Orianna instead. This decision left the community puzzled until the Hall of Legends event was announced, where it was revealed that Faker would be receiving an expensive Ahri skin as part of his induction. The pieces finally fell into place and fans were able to understand the reasoning behind Faker’s choice for the Worlds 2023 skin.

Fans are eagerly dissecting every detail of the Worlds 2023 skins, picking up every clue, Easter egg, and nod to T1 players and their journey. For example, in the recall animation for Faker’s Orianna skin, players can spot what seems to be Korea’s Irworobongdo—or Painting of the Kings—a folding screen that was always set behind the king’s royal throne and was also used in one of the Worlds trailers.

Oner’s Lee Sin has four scars on his chest, seemingly as a nod to the four Worlds titles held by T1. And, as promised, it has a special interaction with a previous T1 Worlds skin. Gumayusi’s Jinx features a recall with the player’s puppy while Keria’s Bard has a special interaction with Lux, another champion he initially wanted to give his Worlds skin to.

An official release date for these skins still hasn’t been confirmed, but based on the timing of these leaks, it’s possible that the cosmetics could hit League’s shop alongside Patch 14.16 on Aug. 14.
