The L.A. Guerrillas release a previous world champion as their first roster change of the 2023 CDL season.
By agreeing to split ways with former global champion Huke, the Los Angeles Guerrillas have made the first formal roster change of the Call of Duty League.
Huke’s removal from the roster was confirmed by the Guerrillas, who also stated that they wished him well in his future endeavors. Huke confirmed his status as a free agent for the remainder of the season and that he will be searching for a new team in a subsequent Tweet.
We've mutually agreed to part ways with @Huke.
Throughout the last two seasons, Cuyler’s impact was always felt on and off the sticks. We’re forever grateful for his contributions to our organization and the history he created with us.
Thank you, Huke. We wish you all the best. pic.twitter.com/G1WJx6le1u

After the first Major, there were several reports during the winter break that several underperforming teams would be changing their personnel. Huke’s departure from the Guerrillas was not first suspected, and he was not expected to join another group.
Initially, there were speculations that Arcitys was leaving the squad to join OpTic Texas, but those allegations were eventually dispelled, and now LAG is reportedly seeking to build around his abilities instead.
Three current LAG Academy players will receive promotions from the Guerrillas, according to Jacob Hale of Dexerto. During the group stage, which was also when the main squad was eliminated from the Major, the LAG Academy roster was also eliminated.
Assault, Kaden “Exceed” Stockdale, and JoeDeceives are the three reportedly promoted players to the main roster. Neptune and Spart’s future is still uncertain; they may be transferred to the academy roster or dismissed entirely from the company.
