Why FBI and Ssumday haven’t yet gotten used to playing with the “strange” Evil Geniuses playstyle is explained by Inspired.
The 2023 LCS Spring Split has gotten off to a rather good start for Evil Geniuses, who have won seven of their past nine League of Legends games. The squad may be in good shape, but superstar jungler Kacper “Inspired” Soma thinks they still have a ways to go in terms of their collective ability.
The 21-year-old said that Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho and Victor “FBI” Huang, for instance, are still figuring out how to fit into the team’s environment, in part because of the team’s unconventional playstyle.
In a post-match interview with Dot Esports, Inspired said, “It’s sorta easier since they’re experienced, and they’ve already played a lot of games on stage.” Yet, “Jojopyun and I play extremely aggressively and prefer to play in a completely different style than any other team, so I believe they’re just a little startled by how we play.”
He gave a specific illustration of how FBI would always switch to an early-game combat, even though he might not be required. He could, and ought to, be leveling up and acquiring advantages through gold instead, but he isn’t used to the way Jojopyun and Inspired “pull adversaries across the map.”
Inspired added that this was now the main distinction between FBI and Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki, the team’s former AD carry. Danny understood that if the mid-jungle combination perished, it would be their fault alone and no one else’s. His duty was to farm up and become the strongest carry in the middle to late game.
Motivated needs to show his new comrade that sometimes the right approach is to just let the team get away with their antics while he concentrates on obtaining as many resources as he can because FBI is much more focused on team play.
